From Nintendo Power's interview with the man himself, Shigeru Miyamoto;
"NP: And, of course, I have to ask: have you given any thought to putting a new Kid Icarus game on Wii or DS?
Miyamoto: Wait, please. I'm really surprised how popular that is. But you are the first person to ask at this E3!"
Throughout the past year or two, Matt Casamassina in various media outlets has practically confirmed the existence of Kid Icarus Wii, and alongside it validated the rumors of Factor 5 developing it. Kid Icarus was one of the games I accepted to see in Nintendo's E3 Press Conference, but I think we may know why.One major issue would to give pause to development; their US studio was closed down earlier this year. With Miyamoto saying we should wait, adding in Nintendo's penchant for waiting until something worthwhile is able to be shown, probably means that there wasn't enough far along in development for Nintendo to show off something at E3.
However, as previously mentioned, Factor 5's US studio closed down, now would be the time for Miyamoto to say wait, as more than likely, they'll be trying to acquire as much of what Factor 5 had, so that they can pick up right where the developer left off. If it is found unsuitable, then Nintendo can start over.
It all fits together; Miyamoto just needs us to wait, so he can give Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht a call.
